I'm really glad about this  I think he deserves it! He was amazing in that movie! I've never been a fan of any of the batman movies until Heath's Joker! A little bit of what got him the award! ;D |

While it's obvious he's experiencing the James Dean effect, where one's skill is overhyped by an untimely death, he deserved it.
At least when compared to the competition. Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder? Gag.
Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt may have been close, one could debate that if Ledger had lived Hoffman may have won this award instead of him.
Either way, here's hoping Ledger gets a posthumous Oscar.
