Her bed side manner is perfected, and she has a way with children. Since the loss of her ability to practice legally. She has resorted to practicing illegally. In the Narrows, where she opened a small private clinic. She is known among the people in the Narrow quiet well, as the woman who will patch them up if they need her too.
However, there is a catty side to this small woman, she hates being crossed, and she had a well managed temper, but when her temper blows, its like a volcano going off. History:
The moment Gabrielle brought the small little pale child into the world, she wondered if the kinder thing might have been to allow her to die. She was premature by at least two months, though all her little digits her fingers and her toes were formed, her heart wasn't so well, nor was the fact that when the light hit that fragile delicate skin, that it burned liked under a tanning light, and indeed it was any wonder the girl survived to be a child. However, I suppose you could say that karma makes up for that, because what she lacked physical she more than made up for mentally. The little girl was in and out of the hospital for the first seven or so years of her life, she was made to read Brail, because her eyes were not functioning properly, and indeed she does suffer from a lesser form of blindness, this was corrected with glasses, as contact weren't and never would be an option to the little girl. Still she managed to stay ahead of the curve, because she had tutors, she had teacher, and her parents kept her involved in her life, though they could not say they were proud of there only child, they could say she accomplished alot with what little she was given.
It was in elementary school that she was to discover just how different she was, the other kids teased her because she was so different, so pale, because she had fire eyes, because she was not colored, she was made to feel an outcast, even though at that time it was just that, a mild curiosity as to what was going on with the little girl herself, her many sick days made people wonder but still she kept her own council, only making a few but strong and lasting friends. Desmond took her back to France, when she was eight years old, so she could summer with her mother, who like her was frail of health though this was because she was dying from luekiemia and there was no real hope for her. She spent the summer nights out on the patio with her mother, or walking with her through the suddenly drenched streets of Paris. It was at this time with her mother that Linda learned to develop a love for the ran, to hear it pattering against the street, to see it albeit blurry overhead in the glow of the lamp light, a life that she could only live that being hidden in shadows and by lamp-light. That summer is a fond memory for Linn, one of few she would have.
It was while there in Paris that she was given the eye surgery that allowed her to see things. So when the world came into focus, it was a wonder indeed, and the small albino was glad to see it to even be apart of it. She took to studying her mother's illness, and she devoted herself to genetics, in hopes of finding something to give her a little more time. Her mother had soothed her, and told her to play outside be a little girl, not to force herself to grow up so quick she had made her peace with herself long ago. This only pushed the little girl to work harder, and put her genius level brain to work, in manners that were more useful to her. Linda spent much time in the libraries and medical school libraries. She aced through school far to quickly for Desmond's liking because it damaged her social, and stunted her growth on a interaction level. Still she seemed fine. So he endured because it made her happy. Her mother grew worse and worse, and soon there little walks and summers together dwindled into the fondest recesses of memory, and Linda went with her father,to Gotham.
Adolescents & Adulthood
Gotham was a sprawling city, with so much going on it was quiet ease to get lost among the many streets, the sprawling sky scrappers and the many similar looking building. She often spent hours after night fall just traveling the city, trying to commune with it much as she did back home in her mother's garden in France. It was around this time that she took a keen interest in the martial arts form of Pao Pat Mai. A cat like style, that she enjoyed practicing as a girl with to much brain power had to find something to consume her time. She graduated from high school at twelve. She was a collage student that very next semester so she was always active and wouldn't have time to think on the bad things in her life, her father who was never home, her ailing mother in France, her own failing health.
She found she was still made a mockery of, stared at and put on display, this time for her mind, when she discovered a formula that would ease the worst of a patients skin problems. It was something of a joke to have such a young child working as a doctor, so at eight-teen, the girl was a genetic scientist, and had the funding of a powerful corporation, the admiration of some of the doctors, and the spite of others. So it was bound to happen that all she worked for would topple, it was again her Karma, things weren't balanced. The year she gained tenure, her mother passed away, six month from the cure, that the Corp that had been sponsoring her delayed the funding. Linda gave up on the cure completely, sold it off to the highest bidder to do with as they saw fit. It was money that went into an account, she wouldn't be able to access for years anyways. Linda grew careless with her tinkering, she began to use the terminal patients as her very own subjects, of course she talked to them, and convinced them it might save them, and it might have, she had stressed it was a test procedure. All this came to a boil when she one of the patient walked, and sued the hospital, more cases came forward, and because a doctor wanted to be big and bad, she lost her license and her right to practice medicine. Law did not give her those rights, her mind did and she was damned if that was going to stop her.
In fact Linda continued to work hard to keep herself and her father afloat after that. Desmond all but gave up on his firm, took to drinking, the bottle became his best friend , his lover and what he turned to when there was nothing else. Linda, was left trying to care for both of them, living from pay check to pay check and what little she could scrounge up. The money she had saved from selling her work was being gone through quickly, she resented the man, she was barely out of her teens, she didn't deserve to be treated like this. She wanted nothing more than to go home, but her father refused to allow her to. This led to there falling out, when he told her as long as she was under his roof, which was a sad thing indeed since it was her money that paid for it. She would do what he told her too, and obey him. His drinking grew worse and so too did the beating, and the fact her father liked to throw religion into the girls face, often calling her a devil's child, with her strange looks.
Her father began to date a woman of questionable repute, and while that didn't bother Linda because of what she did. It was how she was treated that did bother her. With her father beating her, the woman taking her clothes and anything that looked of value, it was a trying time, than one night, she found herself dumped from the apart she was paying for with only a single suitcase and no where to go. So she found herself in an all night diner waiting tables,. It was better than the alternatives that she didn't want to think about, though she still burned with a seething hatred for her father and the woman he took up with. This job was at least something to get by on, to feed herself, she slept in a small one room loft apartment in the Narrows, where she could afford rent, and not be on the street, at least not completely. Than one night, a night she'd do over again if she could.
She met a small chipper fellow, decked out in coat and tails. He introduced himself as Oswald Cobblepot. Now Oswald was a strange fellow to begin with but he seemed to like her and he was nice to her. In truth he was fascinated with penguins and her pale white beauty when placed in black, achieved what he wanted so he tried to hire her on as one of his girls .Repulsed to be offered the life she was working so hard to avoid, she flat out refused him, no matter how much pretty jewelry and how money he offered, her affections were not for purchase. In fact she was not really sure she wanted to wind up the way her mother had. Linda, continued her life working at the Diner, it was when Cobblepot came back night after night he got some of her story out of her, learning her talent lay in an area he could certainly use, Oswald invited her to come work for him in the lab and no where else. Since she seemed opposed to him as it were. Ever a gentleman on the outside. Oswald allowed her to get settled in and use to life in the Gotham Underworld. That was before he drugged her and sketchy is all the things that she remembered that followed, Linda grew completely disenchanted with the Penguin, and she was ready to walk out to return to her diner, when she was given another job.
Work for with the Scarecrow in developing a formula to scare his lackey's in line. To make them fear him. Linda was pleased to work with Jonathan who was very much a gentleman, and kind to her, not in the same way most people were kind or attempted to be. There was also something about Doctor Crane that allowed the two of them to really hit it off. Similar interests and background attested a bit to this. Than came the time when she used what she and Jonathan developed on herself, she was quiet ill for several days. Still she worked the lab, her abilities slowly manifested themselves over the weeks, and when Jonathan left the Penguins service, so to did Linda, the only that kept Linda from pitching the little deviant off the roof top was the untimely appearance of Batman, so she's quiet annoyed at his poking his nose in her business, where it certainly does not belong.
Recent
Linda has only just returned from Paris where she was finally able to visit her mother's grave. Having taken with her the formula that she and Jonathan had created. Not to mention a fair amount of money that the Penguin didn't need and obviously owed herself and Jon. Linda has been following the murders in the paper, but hasn't been personally effected as of yet. She understands that what ever is going on is more than meets the eye. She also suspects that the murderer is two people, not one. Still she can't prove this theory ---yet.
Role Play Example: At Least two paragraphs longt was late in the Narrows and she knew that she should be laying low, however things never seemed to be bright there in the ever lasting gloom, and shallow lamp light, where there were lamps, anyways and not knocked out, shot out, or otherwise destroyed by someone's carelessness, or just because they could. Her foot fall was at ease as she moved along, and her jacket turned up against he breeze. It was only late September, but Linda was albino so she got cold quickly, and she didn't want to risk catching the flu, that was absolutely the last thing she needed. Since the formula that had been created to help with her burning of the sunlight, Linn often slept nights, but deep down once a night-owl, always a night-owl.
Did she regret working for Oswald, maybe to an extent she did. The man had no social morals, and he'd been very rude to Jonathan while they had worked together for him. This led her to dislike him, because she liked Jon for one, and the other, manner's did count for something in her book. Her head tipped to the side as she looked around the street she was standing on, her lips pressed faintly and paused long enough to adjust a buckle to one of her boots, this was actually more to survey her surrounding, you did not grow up in the Narrows, and not learn how to survive there. Somethings were ingrained, and other's instinctual. No longer shadows than normal, the only noise was the cats in the alley, rummaging for a meal. So why did she feel so d**n paranoid ? She wasn't sure. Her fingers dropped to the pockets of her jacket and Linn, continued to move along.
She was on her way to visit with Cait, the little girl, who was not so little these days. Would miss her. She had told her to stay in doors, to not answer the door to anyone, not even anyone saying they were here. She would come in through the balcony and with a key. It was her fastest way of getting around. The place they were currently living must had been a fancy hotel at one point, but now was falling apart, and had seen better days. It was good enough for Linn and for Cait. The two of them retained rooms in one of the wings, where no one would suspect them. The lights they used were gas lamps, and they had a generator for tv, fridge, Linn's lap top and her lab. Though the lab was nothing like what she had before than. It was still good enough for her and it worked, to manufacture the things that she needed.
Checking her watch, she frowned slightly. It was late Cait would be asleep. So she didn't need to rush. Not that she had anywhere else to be. She wasn't a party-girl. She wasn't a club hopper either. She'd been out getting some grocery's from the twenty four hour mart. When she rounded the corner of another building she froze, and muttered a soft curse under her breath, the long black limo that was parked there belonged to her former employer. She knew Cobblepot's vehicle anywhere and that was it.
Maybe he was just disposing of some unfortunate fool who'd crossed him. Though that little voice spoke in her head. Maybe he was looking for her. She couldn't imagine why, but Linda was semi known in this part of the Narrows, she was not quiet a Vigilante she was still a Villain but to the people around here. She watched out for them.
Her jaunt slowed and she waited to see what would be.
What can your character do to enhance our site, and how will it be included in the plot/story. Please think carefully and remember, know Mary sues etc. Even the superheros have faults. This part of the application is very important as we only want the best role players join our site. Well other than be friendly and open to other role players, a consistent poster and a good member. I am not sure what to say here. As far as plots go I would have to see what other's have in mind, but I am usually open to most plots. I can post frequently. With the recent fall of Gotham and the mess that the place is, Linda would likely stick to the Narrows and Arkham, areas she knows well enough, and try to help those in that area. Though she might also join back up with her former Troublemaking buddy Scarecrow (if he's game) to cause some trouble.
